Early 2017 Honda announced that at the end of August, the world’s most famous 50cc minibike will finish its 50-year production run. In recognition of this incredible production Honda produced a final 50th anniversary special edition, which sent the world into a buying frenzy. Shortly after that news Honda also announced an extremely small production of 500 Special Chrome 50^th anniversary Monkey’s.

This Chrome 50th Special will be the final of the final edition, and turns the classic colors into monochrome. Unique design elements include a chrome plated fuel tank, chrome front and rear guards, headlight case and side cover. The wheels are painted black, and the tartan pattern on the seat is grey. Harking back to Honda’s past is a revisit of the wing logo, and there’s a new designed logo for the 50th anniversary which appears on the top of the fuel tank and the key.

Sale of the 500 Chrome Specials was via a lottery, and only to residents of Japan. The 50th Chrome in these pics are sold, but we do take orders for customers willing to wait until new or new new examples surface in Japan.
