1993 Ducati SP5 Racer

1993 Ducati 888 SP5 - Corse SOLD 2024

This Ducati SP5 was originally sold as a race-spec bike, built by Ducati in the Borgo Panigale factory for the Mantova based Ghelfi Team.  It was one of the 5 WSBK spec race bikes supplied directly to race teams from Ducati.  None of the 5 bikes were fitted with the road-going SP5 triple-clamp, and therefore none were fitted with the SP5 plague.

In 2010 it was purchased by the current owner who modified the bike for road use, fitting Marzocchi street forks and road-going upper fairing & head light, but all other factory race-spec items have remained, including Ohlin's rear shock, magnesium side cases etc.   Note: The originally fitted Ohlin's are no longer with the bike. 

The bike has none of the usual post-racing defects or damage.  Very well presented, fully intact and last serviced in September 2018, including belts & fluids.  The bike is sold with an excellent workshop maintenance records dating back to the beginning of 2015.  Although started regularly, the bike has sat on display since 2016 while in the preceding year, 2015, the bike covered approximately 50 kilometers.

- Original floating front discs, Brembo radial master cylinder, new pads.

- WSBK Reinforced racing frame.

- WSBK radiator with increased volume.

- Complete exhaust (carbon cans) & original Ducati running unit.

- WSBK Carbon steel dashboard frame.

- WSBK Carbon tank, carbon cap.

- WSBK Carbon fairings.

- Carbon front and rear fender/hugger.

- Reversed original gear change.

- New magnesium engine casting covers.

- WSBK Original carbon pegs assemblies.

- Corse 926 cm3 displacement with 64 mm stroke and bore 96 mm.

- Never fallen or crashed & has sat on display for 10 years

- New battery installed.

- Semi-new super racing tires.
