1981 Ducati TT2 Race Replica

$16,930.23

 Product Description

1981 Ducati TT2 Replica Racer

This Ducati TT2 replica is genuine racer with serious history and track cred. Starting with a new Verlicchi replica TT2 chrome-moly frame, it uses RaceTech emulators & Works Performance rear dampener, overhauled by the factory with dyno sheets. The frame and geometry were set up in Atlanta, Georgia, using the very latest laser frame alignment system. Originally built using an aluminium swing-arm, modified to suit the Honda rims, the original steel swing-arm is included in the spares

The entire engine & gearbox was built by American Pantah Guru Bruce Meyers. The engine is a 650 dry clutch modified to 750, with both carbs facing rearward. Inlet manifolds matched the intakes & tapered for higher air-speed/flow. Oversize valves, 900ss cams for a smoother increase in torque & less peakiness than the factory spec cams. Compression 13.5 to 1, Wiseco pistons developed by Meyers himself, Carrillo rods and lightened crank. Lightened clutch & flywheel using the Ed Milich (Ducpower) modifications. The bike runs in total loss, but the starter motor is in place.

The bike weighs-in at just under 154kg including starter; fraction under 79kg on the front axle, 77 at the rear. Wheels are from a CBR600 F2, which are definitely not light, so extra weight savings are readily available.

The present owner raced this bike for a number of years in the USA. What started out as “maybe the odd club event”, soon turned into chasing regional and national championships around the USA. It’s been raced in the south east (USA) each year at Road Atlanta (Georgia), Virginia International Speedway (Virginia), Barber Motorsports park (Alabama), Roebling Road Raceway (Georgia), Little Talladega (Tennessee), Daytona (Florida), Nashville (Tennessee), Jennings-GP (Florida), Palm Beach International Raceway (Florida). It won a national novice championship in the WERA Clubman series, and was runner up in the Vintage 5 WERA National class twice. There were also three or four regional championships in V5 & clubman before the owner moved to Australia where it has done only a few track days at Phillip Island.

A good host of spares are available with the bike subject to sale price, and include a spare set of wheels with rain tyres, a range of new & good used slicks; range of gearing sizes for the 520 chain, different weight fork springs & different weight rear shock spring and more.
