1980 Suzuki GS1000 SOLD 2021
The Suzuki GS1000 was a ground-breaker in the late 70’s, and by 1980 many of the less than ideal aspects were greatly improved. The good handling chassis and reliable, over-engineered engines made the four cylinder GS bikes ideal platforms for racing, and with the brilliance of Pops Yoshimura, the GS would win the 1978 Daytona Superbike race, the 1978 Suzuka 8 Hours, the AMA Superbike national championship in 1979 and 1980 with rider Wes Cooley.
Locally the GSq1000 won the 79 Australian Castrol Six Hour, while in Europe Yoshimura GS1000-powered Formula 1 bikes gave Kiwi Graeme Crosby the 1980 & 81 Formula TT World Championships.
This example is a patina perfect 1980 model, with less than 16,000k’s use. Located with our Italian agent, the advertised price includes shipping and arrival charges into Sydney.
