1968 Italjet Mustang & Deluxe 50cc Café Racers

These two bikes were originally imported into the US as a pair to use for magazine articles, promotional duties and motorcycle shows. Both have very few miles (under 1000 original), both have California titles and blue CA plates.

These two classic Italian sports bikes have remained together in dry storage for the past 33 years, and although not part of the sale, their owner would prefer if they were to remain together.

Italjet were avant-garde for the era, and these lovely bikes incorporated some amazing, if not exotic features including double sided front brakes, beautiful hand-crafted alloy components, remote float Dellorto carbs, Lafranconi exhausts, and an extraordinary frame and fuel tank design. You will note lightning holes drilled in fender brackets, all done by the factory, fork crowns, exhaust stays, and more. One unique feature, years ahead of its time, is the fuel tank mounted speedometer!

Pictures of the completed bikes are only provided as a facsimile of what can be achieved. They could be built into café racers or undergo concourse restoration to replicate the Italjet Vampiro.Both currently located in Ca, the advertised cost excludes shipping.
