The Ducati 888 Desmoquattro stands as one of the most important motorcycles in Ducati’s modern history, a machine that bridged the raw, race-dominated super bikes of the late 1980s with the design-led revolution that would soon follow. Developed directly from Ducati’s World Super bike winning lineage, the 888 represents the final evolution of Massimo Bordi’s Desmoquattro platform and the last of Ducati’s true hand-built, race-first superbikes before the arrival of the iconic 916.
Produced in limited numbers, this particular example is a 1994 Ducati 888 two-seater, one of the final 300 units built before production ceased to make way for the next generation. By this stage, the 888 benefited from years of racing development, offering sharpened chassis geometry, unmistakable Tamburini-era styling, and a ferociously characterful 888cc desmodromic V-twin that defined Ducati’s dominance in early 1990s World Superbike competition.
Remarkably, this motorcycle has had just two owners from new, with the first retaining it until 2013 and the second preserving it with equal care ever since. FMI registered and supplied with two keys and original registration documents, it presents as a beautifully maintained and highly authentic example.
