The 1984 Ducati MHR (Mike Hailwood Replica) 900cc is a celebrated tribute to Mike Hailwood’s legendary 1978 Isle of Man TT victory. Blending Ducati’s racing pedigree with Hailwood’s Castrol Olis livery, the MHR’s paint scheme captured both the spirit of Italy and ‘Mike the Bike’s’ remarkable comeback, while offering enthusiasts a road-going machine inspired by the track.
Powered by the beautiful 900cc Squarecase engine, the bike produced around 75 horsepower and delivered strong torque with a distinctive exhaust note. The MHR’s riding position with clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs, and full-fairing, reflected its racing roots. By 1984, the model had benefited from narrower bodywork, refinements in braking and suspension, making it more practical without losing its raw, mechanical charm.
Being the last of the 900cc models, the 1984 MHR 900 is historically significant in the model’s production, and today remains a highly prized collector’s bike, admired for its history, style, and character.
