The Ducati 750 F1 was enormously successful for Ducati both on and off the track, but in road bike form sales were hindered by its relatively high price. Inspired by the glamour of the F1, the 1988 750 Sport was an interim model that Cagiva hoped would capture the spirit and style of the earlier 750SS & 750 Sport, and while the idea had merit, buyer sentiment showed it the back door in preference to a renewed version of the long-running 900SS.

The second 750 Sport as a model ran for only two years before buyers influenced introduction of the long-running 900SS. Production numbers are unclear but in it’s second year only 153 were produced making this possibly one of Ducti’s smallest produced models.

This example, located in Australia and currently on NSW Historic Rego, benefits from technical upgrades that Ducati should have included in their original specification. Paoli forks, conversion to 17” Brembo wheels and rotors, replacement of Weber carby to Monster dual carbs and Carbon cans. The bike has only seen 15,800k’s, starts on the button, runs & rides exceptionally. The sale includes all removed original parts; 16-inch wheels, forks, carbs etc. The bike presents beautiful in the flesh, has a little ageing & a couple of scratches, but very nice and extremely affordable.
