1987 Bimota DB1SR Seire Finale
Bimota’s diminutive DB1 was first released in 1985 and is to many enthusiasts, the ultimate Bimota to have in any collection given it was the first of the DB (Ducati Bimota) model range, and as with all DB models to follow, the only all Italian creation.
The DB1SR Serie Finale were the last 7 DB1 ever built. Similar in performance and style to the first 153 SR’s which featured higher performance engines thanks to the more radical cam shafts produced during 1987 & 1989, they also had 4-piston Goldline front callipers, 41 mm carburettors, freer 2-into-1 exhaust, and while 6 were painted with a green stripe, one bike was painted all white with red striping, especially for the owner of Rima Bimota, a Naples based dealership that still remains today. The 7 Serie Finale also had plaque on the right side of the swingarm, noting the frame number. These bikes were assembled in 1990 using the last 7 remaining DB1 frames, built at the request of the USA Bimota Club President after a visit Rimini Factory. Three went to the US, at least one went to Japan, another to France, and of course this one which remained in Italy until 2021 when it was imported by Raidermoto and underwent a complete cosmetic restoration.
