1984 MHR 900

$24,487.56

 Product Description

1984 Ducati MHR 900 – Kickstart only SOLD 2021

Seen as the economic salvation for Ducati during its state-ownership period, the Mike Hailwood Replica (MHR) was the most prolific production model during the early 80’s, a factor that up until recent, has limited the models growth in value compared to its higher profiled, smaller production siblings of similar vintage.

Ostensibly a Supersport with full fairing, the MHR has allowed many enthusiasts to own and experience the magic that is exclusive to Bevel Ducati ownership. Whilst still much cheaper than any Supersport, MHR’s are now gaining the respect they deserve, particularly in the UK where 81-84 examples are selling from between 20 and 25k GBP depending on originality, and the much rarer 79-80 models are attracting up to 40kgbp, and will of course continue to rise!

This particular example is one of the last kick-start versions produced, and has had only 2 previous owners. Delivered new in Italy it was purchased from the first owner and imported into Japan by the owner of Ducati Nagoya. Ridden sparingly, mostly with Japan Ducati Owners Club outings, the bike spent most of its life on display in the owners Ducati Nagoya showroom before being purchased by a Melbourne enthusiast where it sits today surrounded by some of the worlds most exotic sports cars.

Before coming to Australia this bike sat idle for many years on the showroom floor of Ducati Nagoya, and in preparation for selling underwent a full service, tyre replacement, valve clearance check and basic pre-delivery services, photos of which are included in the photo selection.  Retaining perfect patina for its relatively low 12,000k’s use, this bike has seen infrequent outings over the past years of local ownership.  In preparation for selling the entire bodywork has had al scuffs & marks repaired & highly polished, new tyres, new screen, full service including carby overhaul and placed on Victorian club rego. A beautifully maintained & presented bike, this rare kick-start 84 offers excellent buying opportunity and will continue to grow in value and desirability.
