Between 1921 and 1968 Moto Guzzi had built an enviable reputation from the racing success of their famous horizontal single-cylinder engines. Reverend for their smooth feeling and beautiful design, the Falcone was designed to increase the marques position and entered the line up as the most expensive high-end model on offer from the tiny factory. Introduced in 1950, the Falcone was slow to be taken-up by buyers, mostly due to the price. First year production amounted to only 200 bikes, but eventual total production would achieve circa 20,000 buy the model’s final year in 1968.

This spectacular example is sold with Italian Ministry of the Interior papers, citing 1951 production, first registration recorded in 1962, and returned to civil use in 1968. This is a GENUINE Sport with the low headlamp, and has retained the original AR plate, original hand booklet and full chronological record and C.D.P. in current ownership. This is the rare drum speedometer rod type, alloy wheels and Dell' Orto SS 29D carburettor, typical of the "Sport-only" version. A matching numbers bike restored many years ago but still perfect chrome and paint and showing only slight patina for its years.

Purchased in 2011 from an elderly collector, this bike was never used and remained as part of a private collection before being acquired by our Italian agent for his personal use and enjoyment. The advertised price includes shipping and arrival charges into Sydney.
